Welcome to the Sale and Silent Auction of the Helen L. Smith paintings from the estate of Guy Whidden II. You can now contact the gallery to start bidding on each painting or purchase it outright without bidding. If you would like to secure the painting without bidding, please refer to the “Sale” price, shown in this viewing room. This is referred to as the “buy it now” price. The minimum starting bid for each of her works is $200, with subsequent bidding increments of $50.00. Bidding will be updated at this site as they are made. The female portrait in pencil has a minimum starting bid of $50. The Lockhouse Gallery proceeds (35%) of the final sale price of each piece will be donated to the Brunswick Arts Council and the Brunswick Food Bank. The work will be on display for personal viewing at the gallery. On September 27th, from 5-8 pm, we will hold a celebration and reception at the gallery with the final hours of the silent auction ending at 7:30 pm. We will have food, beverages, and wine as well as hear from members of the Brunswick Arts Council and community leaders, with a short talk to honor Helen L. Smith and her contribution to art in Frederick County.
